Super Matcha

If you haven’t already experienced the earthiness of this super herb first hand, chances are good you’ve seen Matcha used in a traditional tea or latte. Matcha has been traditionally used for centuries in Asian cultures during tea ceremonies and has been respected for its amazing balancing properties.

How does Matcha grow?

Matcha is made from finely ground from young tencha leaves that are picked off of the shade grown tea bush (Camellia sinensis). The leaves are younger and softer, and they have a high chlorophyll content which accounts for the vibrant green color, and also helps bring oxygen into cells.

How can I use Matcha at home?

Matcha is traditionally made by placing a small spoonful of the powder into a bowl, and then pouring over hot water or milk. A bamboo whisk is then used to vigorously stir what will become the delicious hot (or cold) beverage. Beyond the traditional beverage, the super herb can be used in desserts, baked goods, energy bars, smoothies, and more. Matcha mochi, anyone?!
